For whatever reason, getting my Leftovers of October 2017 has proven difficult. While I am still working on the worthwhile films of the month that I think you should see before they leave theaters. Here are a few that you should try and avoid. Save your money for better things to come.
Just Cutting It
Novitiate– Much like The Good Catholic earlier this year, this film dives into the subjects of Catholicism and the conflict of sexual/romantic desire. Two crossed subjects collide head-on in this one. Done before and better, but you could do worse than this film.
Jigsaw– Nothing new here, but you could do worse. If you like the previous movies, you may find yourself enjoying this.

The Mountain Between Us– Not quite the story you were sold in the trailers (Bait and switch, bait and switch.). Decent acting and beautiful settings save this from being a total waste.

Same Kind of Different as Me– Filled with good intention and a talented cast. It misses the point and glosses over serious issues dealing with social status and race relations. It may not be the worst film of 2017. It may even be watchable with an A-list cast, but it still isn’t good.

Leatherface– Leave this franchise alone! Let’s all just be thankful we had the original. What a glorious film it is.
Suburbicon– So many talented people involved, sometimes there is too much of a good thing indeed. I found reviews, but I’m not even going to bother. It’s a mess, and these talented people could do so much better.
All I See is You – Because there was probably only one person in the theater watching this.
Geostorm– Not nearly the fun CGI disaster flick people hoped for. Still, it found a way to remain terrible.

The Snowman– It was given a cold reception. It meanders about and winds up in slushy waters with little to nothing to show for it.

Blood Money – Two things you won’t get back from this film after viewing.
Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween – They keep making these films. I know of only one person in my entire life who has ever enjoyed them. I suppose they make them for my cousin. To my cousin Stella, I hope you enjoy this movie.
