Silver Bullet (1985)
Starring: Gary Busey, Corey Haim
Inspired by a Stephen King novel.
A werewolf terrorizes a small city including a paralytic boy and his family.
Let’s get the fact that this movie is a werewolf movie. Like the majority of “great” lycanthropic movies before and after, it isn’t a good movie by traditional standards. However, it is fine for films about werewolves. One of the better, I think.
What i like about this movie (The 1980’s quality graphics?) is that it describes werewolves in a terrifying manner from the point of view of two children. There is this added factor of one character being paralyzed from the waist down. (You imagine being paralyzed and facing a werewolf? Talk about a bad situation.)
Also, let’s give some love to 1980’s Gary Busey (Providing no new revelations come out about him.). Mr. Busey was a very big 1980’s star. Many of his characters were off-kilter and now we know why.
This is not the best werewolf movie from the 1980’s (Far from it, in fact.) However, for the month of October, for avid werewolf fanatics. This is a movie you need to watch every couple years or so.
