Watch it, Wait On It, Waste it (Formerly New Releases)

Release date: October 16th, 2015

Three notable movies coming on this weekend which means the chances are finding something new to watch that is worth your time is high.

The best of them is Bridge of Spies, which is Steven Spielberg’s newest work.  Featuring the amazing talent of Tom Hanks, Alan Alda, and Amy Ryan.  This is a Cold War era drama where the CIA brings in an prominent insurance lawyer to negotiate a deal with the Soviet Union in exchange the American pilot for a Soviet spy. Everything is on the table.

Bridge of Spies currently looking really good and that should surprise nobody.  Currently holding an 8.6 of 772 ratings on IMBD.

This is my movie choice of the week. I can’t wait to see it and I believe it will wind up as one of the best films of 2015.  If you love historical dramas with all-star casts and a legendary director at the helm, you will be satisfied with this one.

Crimson Peak is a fantasy horror film by Guillermo Del Toro (Pans Labyrinth/ Hellboy/Pacific Rim). His movies are incredibly well designed, often well acted and entertaining. Sometimes they suffer from weak writing. With a cast that features Tom Hiddleston, and Jessica Chastain, I’m excited for this one. It is rare to see a horror film look so crisp and high-quality.  There are mentions that the writing and character development could be better, but the overall acting is superb, the sets, sounds, and CGI are lovely and creepy. The ending intense and violent.  Currently the movie is holding strong at 7.8 of 1,389 ratings.

Finally, for the younger audience, but also for those who grew up reading Goosebumps in the 1990’s, there is Goosebumps. With Jack Black and Amy Ryan as the most notable stars in this fantasy action/adventure comedy.  All the monsters from the many Goosebumps novels have now come to life and now R.L. Stine (Jack Black) and a group of teens needs to find a way to put them back in without being killed.  IMDb rating is currently 7.2 from 494 reviews. It appears you could do much worse than go on a nostalgic trip of your past.
