The People Vs Larry Flynt (1996)
Genre: Biography, Drama
Director: Milos Forman
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Edward Norton, Courtney Love, James Carville
A film about the controversial pornography publisher named Larry Flynt (Hustler and other publications). The story of his life and how he became a defender of freedom of speech for all.
This film is actually quite good featuring excellent acting by Harrelson and Norton. The story is based on Larry Flynt’s life, but is heavily altered in his favor.
There is definitely something worthwhile about the movie from the perspective of freedom of speech. That is an important freedom and it needs to remain protected. I dislike how Larry Flynt uses his powers, but I think he should be able to use it for these purposes.
Anyways, the film has some exceptional acting, there is a powerful message about free speech. It’s overall entertaining and I would say worth the watch.
