Rewind (1980s) Legend

Legend (1985)

Genre: Adventure,Fantasy, Romance

Director- Ridley Scott

Starring: Tom Cruise, Mia Sara, Tim Curry, Billy Barty

About a young man named  Jack (Tom Cruise) who must stop the Lord of Darkness (Tim Curry) from marrying the woman Jack loves. Also about a devious plan to eradicate all unicorns from the realm for they are protector’s of light.

This movie is all sorts of awesome. I don’t normally like fantasy movies, but something about this one spoke to me. Perhaps it was how evil Tim Curry’s character, Darkness, looked in the film. A young Tom Cruise played this part wonderfully as well. Upon first glance you have unicorns, massive demons trying to kill said unicorns, and a half-naked Tom Cruise (more scantily clad than half-naked). There are goblins and fairies and this overall surreal setting. The movie is a lot of fun for all these reasons.

This one isn’t for people who like things mainstream, but if you are willing to drift off those paved roads, you may find yourself having a great time with this film.
