Rewind (1980s) Back to the Future

Some very light spoilers below. If you can deal with knowing some minor details to the movie then proceed and enjoy.

Back to the Future (1985)

Adventure/Comedy/Science Fiction

Director- Robert Zemeckis

Starring: Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd

About a young man named Marty McFly who is sent back 30 years in a time machine (placed inside a redesigned  DeLorean of all things) created by Dr. Emmett Brown. Marty happens to run into his high school aged parents and accidentally causes events which may alter the future and erase him from existence.

Man, is this movie great. Every few years I sit down to watch it and still love it like I did upon first viewing.  First off, Lloyd and Fox have great chemistry together. Few people play an eccentric older scientist better in my opinion. It takes various familiar problems that time travel could produce and has the characters deal with it. The production value of this movie is solid, it may have been created 30 years ago, but still holds up alright today.

The characters are likable and more complex than most, The story is interesting and the effects are evenly mixed with the acting talent.  The movie holds up fairly well for an 80’s movie today as well.  Whoever had the idea to redefine the DeLorean from a failed car model into an iconic time machine was brilliant.

This film has a little bit of everything you could want. Some romance, plenty of humor, eccentric scientists making crazy cool inventions. A dog named Einstein. (Coolest dog name I ever got to use was Titus in honor of Christopher Titus, the comedian.)
