About a group of offbeat criminals and assassins uniting to stop the evil Ronin from acquiring an infinity stone (a stone of immense destructive power) from a rogue warrior named Ronin who wants to take control of the galaxy (and possibly more)

Guardians of the Galaxy was the biggest hit of 2014 and if you watched it already, then you likely know why. It has a good mix of solid acting, action sequences, and properly placed humor. Sure, there are some casting decisions we can question and characters we would like more back-story on, but for the start of a franchise, it was pretty darn awesome.

I loved this movie (Actually saw it five times in theaters. Other members of that elite club include Oceans Eleven (2001), Sweeney Todd (2008) How to Train Your Dragon (2010), and The Avengers (2012).)  It had tons of laughs, great looking action, stunning visuals, a little bit of heart for good measure and one amazing soundtrack.  The cast director of this movie needs a pat on the back. With the exception of maybe Dave Bautista (Considering his characters literal limitations, he worked well enough.) think everyone did a very nice job. This movie made Chris Pratt into a Hollywood hunk and star.  The more I see Zoe Saldana, the more I like her.

The movie also gave us our first real look at the villain known as Thanos. He sounds awesome and looks menacing (though he did look a bit cartoonish, but this movie is based on a comic book so we can allow that.)  I’m curious to see how this rag-tag team of criminals fits into the future Marvel plans (There are so many awesome possibilities!)

This movie was tons of fun, took a very different tone and direction than most Marvel movies to date. It had some issues here and there, but was still exceptional overall.  I recommend anyone who enjoys good science fiction.fantasy movies to check this out.  If you are more down to Earth type, then maybe stay away.
