Rewind: The 1970’s- Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

Genre- Adventure/Comedy/ Fantasy

Cast- John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin

Some Monty Python skits and movies don’t get my attention. They drag and or stop being funny to me. However, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is different and I love it.  The humor is very slapstick/crude and downright stupid at times.

The story is about King Arthur and his knights searching for the Holy Grail and getting into incredibly silly situations.  This movie is so stupid that it is brilliant

Monty Python styled movies and skits can take some getting used to. If you hated it in your youth, wait a few years and watch it again. I consider this particular movie to be their best. Therefore, if you are looking for something very done and professional yet still stupid and silly as can be. This is the movie for you.

Before discarding all Monty Python movies (and likely some of you will) please give this classic comedy a chance to win you over. I can’t guarantee it will make you laugh, but there is a fair chance something within the film will speak to you.
