The Gunfighter (1950)
Here is yet another western that I enjoy, but this time starring Gregory Peck. This one is about a talented sharpshooter who over the years had developed a name for being the quickest and sharpest shooter in the west. Of course, many people looking to make a name for themselves want a shot to duel with him.
I like this movie because it uses a common story of a man who has taken accountability for his past, but seeks to change his future toward something more peaceful and family oriented. This film also shows off the plight of Jimmy Ringo. That despite his fame and respect, there is a darker side of it people don’t think about both within himself and from others looking to take him down.
If you are watching the best westerns ever created, I would recommend checking this one out as well.
