31 Days of Horror: Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus (1993)

Genre: Comedy, Family, Fantasy

Starring: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Katy Najimy

Sure, October is a time for lots of horror movies, but sometimes it’s fun to feel like a kid again.  I present you with Hocus Pocus(1993) starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy (Voice of Peggy Hill from King of the Hill).

Three witches emerge in present day after centuries of slumber. They now seek to prolong their youthful look and very lives by menacing means consisting of devouring children.  Now, Max, the new kid in town, his younger sister, a talking black cat, and Max’s crush, Allison must find a way to survive the night and stop these witches from succeeding in their fiendish plans.

Chances are that if you grew up in the mid eighties to mid nineties that you watched and loved this film. I love this film even today despite being too old the comedy in most cases (but not all cases).  It is tradition that I watch this movie at least once in October.  It is almost always going to make me laugh and be nostalgic.

If you are like me and really enjoyed this movie; find it, rent it, Netflix it if possible and enjoy.

Do you have a film you like to watch during October almost every year?
